Miniature Beagle Puppy

Miniature Beagles are also known as Pocket Beagles and Teacup Beagles. Some people believe they have sprung from the Old English Beagle, a type of Beagle of similar size that was popular among European royalties in old times. However, modern Miniature Beagles are more likely to have been developed by some breeders working toward their acceptance by major breed clubs. So far, the Miniature Beagle is not officially recognized.

Miniature Beagles are very similar to their standard-sized relatives, both in appearance and disposition. They have a rounded head, characteristic pleading eyes, brown or black nose and long, pendulous ears. The feat are compact and strong, and the tail is carried high, not curled over the back, and has a white tip. The coat is smooth, and it comes in various hound colors, including white-and-black-and-tan, black-and-tan, lemon-and-white, red-and-white, and so forth. The coat does not require frequent grooming. Miniature Beagle Puppies have a very soft coat, and red and lemon spots in bi-colored and tri-colored species are not well defined until the dog becomes relatively grown-up.

Like standard Beagles, Miniature Beagles are quite willful and can be a little difficult to train for inexperienced dog owners. This does not mean, however, that they lack intelligence. Miniature Beagles, like their standard counterparts, are very intelligent and are adept at solving puzzles. They have the same keen nose, and tend to follow it with the same self-forgetfulness. This is one of the main reasons why Miniature Beagle Puppy training is so challenging. These dogs require patient and consistent training. Under no circumstances should rough methods be applied to these gentle creatures. Beagles are not intended as guard dogs, because they are less suspicious of strangers than many other dogs.

Miniature Beagles are very communicative, and the appreciate interaction with other dogs and even non-canine pets. They love to play with children, and cannot tolerate loneliness. They bark in a characteristic baying manner, which they usually apply when hunting, and which can be quite disturbing should it result from boredom or loneliness. These dogs are not intended for those who spend most of their time away from home. However, in this case, keeping two Beagles can be a good way out of the situation.
